WHAT IS ALICE ACADEMY?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Alice Academy (or “AA” as we nick-named it) is a play-by-post Role-playing board based on the Manga/Anime Series, “Alice Academy” …well, supposed to be.
It began that way, to say the least. Now on its third year of running, its story and plot kind of evolved to fit the members’ personalities and development. That wasn’t to confuse you. We thought you might be surprised, so we said it beforehand. AA is still Alice Academy—the setting being the contemporary time and the plot being the same like that of the series--but with a whole new “novel” twist.
To further explain this, we shall bombard give you a sort of comparison between the real Alice Academy and our Alice Academy.
The real AA (as we all know) is a bit focused on the younger students’ stories. The board used to have a rule about everyone starting on ages 12-13 years old as first grades in order to follow the series, but due to a LOT of reasons, we’ve just decided to continue the minimum age rule until we have transferred to the new AA board. The new minimum ages are 15-17 and the starting grade is the first year of High School.
Another thing is the places. Most of the academy is designed as of that in the real AA, but some places are added. Whether they are made official by the staff or the students just kept saying that those places exist, these places have become a part of our AA’s everyday routine. For example, the rooftop in the Elementary building wasn’t there in the original series (or at least, I think it wasn’t >_>) but people kept meeting or hanging out in this said rooftop. We also have made a lot fictional shops and/or places around the North woods and the Central Town. There also wasn’t any Freedom Space or Simsphere mentioned anywhere in the series too.
Our AA also has its extension places: the city outside the Academy and the two AA branches (Unmei Island and Amegawa). The latter used to open just whenever the academy holds field trips or summer getaways in any of the two locations, but now, we have kept them open 24/7 in the new board for everyone to enjoy~!
Aside from the places, the thing that sets our AA from the real AA are the villains. There are a lot. The AAO? Psssffft. They’ve been long defeated! Wait…are they? @_@;;, and new villains keep emerging from just any place you can think of! You just have to watch out when they will strike…or strike back.
Of course, the faculty will be mentioned here. AA has a wide range of talented and multi-talented teachers. None of the teachers from the real AA can be found here for the simple reason that this is a novel board, so don’t expect to see around a Narumi-sensei.
Another important thing we have altered are the Alice Classifications. AA used to have it exactly like that in the series, but as the board gains tons of new members, people have kept inventing really crazy alices that made it hard for us staff to classify them using the original classification. The problem grew, and it led us into changing it to more specific categories. It narrowed down the confusion at the same time required new Special Classes and new teachers. It wasn’t a big problem, so don’t worry. The said system is still implemented up to now.
That’s it for this list for now. But no doubt, as AA withstand the test of time (and really withstand), this list will surely grow. Every now and then, each one of us has to welcome change into our lives. And that includes our IC selves. x)
